At EGVUS 5th annual show
Hi! Well, spring is here and showtime begins for most equestrians! Spring has been established as a competition season in the equestrian world and at EGVUS we organized a competition among the athletes. People from age 5 to 45 competed showed their skills in a wide range of activities, such as endurance, polo, showjumping, vaulting, racing, timed exercises with poles, equestrian theory and timed bridle assembling. Natural Hoofcare Workshop in Crete: Day 1
Hello! So, I went to Sitia to meet Andrea and attend her workshop on natural hoofcare. It took me one hour to reach Sitia via a complex network of winding roads and small, picturesque villages. As I was driving along the coastline and later around the mountains, I admit that I struggled with focusing on the hundreds of dangerous turns with the breathtaking view of the sea which was shining under the morning sun. I arrived at the place at around 10:15 a.m., a little dizzy but excited by the schedule of the day that I had ahead of me. My practical experience with natural horsemanship is none and I looked…

Event: Horsemanship experiential workshop “You Can Do That Too” in Crete
Who is up for learning in Crete this summer? There is a notable opportunity for those of you who want to spend some of their summertime developing their horsemanship skills. The Spanish Riding School of Vienna
Hi again! There’s so much to explore in equestrian if you have the time! Today we learn about the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. The Spanish Riding School is a top equestrian centre in Austria, training students exclusively in classical dressage. In fact, it has been practicing Haute-Ecole dressage for over 450 years, a discipline which appears on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, deriving from the times of Renaissance. How come for a school in Vienna to add Spain to its name? It’s the Lipizzaner, the equine breed which is the only one used by the school. The breed, brought from the Iberian peninsula in the…

We are in the magazines!
Hi again! While battling with my last readings and deadlines, our ladies from the University of Nottingham Equestrian were putting hard work to promote the inclusive sessions for disabled students that they have been organising his year -making the disabled students happy and grateful. The article, featuring on two British magazines on activities for the disabled PosAbility and ONTRACK has the title “Inclusive Riding Sessions: Engaging Mind and Body”, highlights the positive impact of our equine therapy sessions on students’ long-term physical and mental conditions in higher education. And if you like my face, you’ll see it on one of the featured pictures -haha. But even if you don’t like my…

UoN RDA reach their minimum goal on Jumpstart!
On our way back from Scropton yard, we learn terrific news! The University of Nottingham RDA group have reached their minimum target amount on Jumpstart, the university’s first crowdfunding platform. This means that they will be granted all the money they have raised at the end of the campaign, and this is exciting! As a Jumpstart Co-ordinator, I feel particularly proud of them, because their project is actually our first-ever one! I would like to thank everyone who donated or spread the word. Let’s give the team a final push to their main target, 1,000 British pounds, of which they have secured 30%. Let’s get as many cute volunteers as possible to RDA…
